Pakistan Independence Day was celebrated with traditional fervor and enthusiasm at the Pakistan Mission here today with the hoisting of the national flag by Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi as the national anthem was played. Consul General of Pakistan, Raja Ali Ejaz was also present.
The ceremony began with the recitation from the Holy Quraan.
Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi read out the Independence Day message of the President and Consul General read out the message of the Prime Minister.
All the officers and staff of the Mission, Consulate General and Pakistanis, including military officers, working at the UN attended the ceremony along with their families and jointly prayed for peace and prosperity of Pakistan.
