Foreign Minister of Pakistan and Nepal hold Bilateral Meetings on the Sidelines of UNGA

New York, 25 September, 2018

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Foreign Minister of Nepal Mr. Pardeep Kumar Gyawali on the sidelines of the UNGA Session in New York. Reiterating the deep and historic relations between the two countries, both leaders expressed their desire to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Nepal. Noting that the arc of bilateral cooperation has been expanding steadily in various fields of mutual interest, both leaders affirmed to enhance economic relations between the two countries to a level commensurate with the political relationship and existing goodwill.

Foreign Minister Qureshi reiterated importance of Pakistan’s bilateral relations with Nepal and appreciated commendable interest of Nepal in reviving SAARC, which remains an important platform for forging regional consensus on all issue of concerns to the South Asian Community of Nations.

Both countries agreed to further strengthen the relations in all areas of mutual interest both at bilateral and regional levels.
